This is definitely a must when in Rome, Very moving and humble experience. Very emotional experience. Steps must be climbed on your knees and remember to buy the prayer book before starting the stairs. There are stairs at the side if you are unable to do the holy stairs. Upstairs and inside the church is beautiful and very peaceful. My family and I were made to feel very welcome by the priest inside who happily showed us around and answered any questions we had. There are also other beautiful churches in the area to visit.
