My kids and I thoroughly enjoyed the tour. The history of the place was wonderfully articulated by our guide, Aidan, who really brought the events, characters and stories to life. The view from the tower over Oxford is also worth the admission price alone. Highly recommended.

Over: Oxford Castle
Oxford Castle is een groot, deels vernietigd Normandisch kasteel in Oxfordshire, Engeland. Het kasteel werd grotendeels verwoest tijdens de Engelse burgeroorlog. Vanaf de 18e eeuw werd het gebruikt als plaatselijke gevangenis.
De gevangenis sloot de deuren in 1996 en kreeg toen een nieuwe bestemming: hotel en toeristische bezienswaardigheid. De middeleeuwse overblijfselen van het kasteel, waaronder de wal, St. George's Tower en de crypte, staan op de Britse monumentenlijst.
