Museum was interesting but all of the signage and information was only in German. Bring along a cellphone with internet so that you can at least listen to some of the info in English, or other...

Over: Emigratiemuseum Hamburg
Het Emigratiemuseum Hamburg (Ballinnstadt) is een voormalige pleisterplaats/tijdelijk onderkomen in de haven van Hamburg waar miljoenen Europese emigranten voorafgaand aan hun oversteek naar Amerika verbleven. De gebouwen werden in 1934 vernietigd door de nazi's, en vervolgens in het begin van de 21e eeuw opnieuw opgebouwd. Tegenwoordig dient het gebouw als permanent museum ter herinnering aan de miljoenen die via deze haven naar de Nieuwe Wereld reisden.
