I recently booked a tour with Tiqets to visit Pompeii and Mount Vesuvius. The Pompeii experience was outstanding. Our guide was engaging, knowledgeable, and kept things entertaining, making the history come alive. We could have listened to him for hours without getting bored. However, the Vesuvius part was less smooth. We had to take an extra bus or 20mins to a different meeting point, which wasn’t clearly communicated, and the staff didn’t seem to know the exact bus stop. Having this information in writing (bus schedule etc.) would have been very helpful. The tour company described a "mountain tour," but it wasn’t a private one—it was just a pickup service with a 20-minute wait. Despite this, the experience of climbing Vesuvius without a guide was amazing. The drivers took us near the top, and the views were breathtaking. Overall, I’d recommend the trip, but clearer communication for the Vesuvius portion would make it even better.
