Miami artist Lauren Shapiro finds her inspiration in the works of Paul Chalfin (1874 – 1959), Vizcaya's artistic advisor.
Shapiro's sculptures are created in response to three spaces decorated by Chalfin: the Breakfast Room, Enclosed Loggia, and Reception Room.

The Vizcaya Museum and Gardens, formally known as Villa Vizcaya, is a villa and estate that once belonged to wealthy businessman James Deering, in Biscayne Bay, Miami, Florida. There's European art to admire and views of Miami to die for, and to this day it's a pleasant respite from the city bustle. Take a walk, or settle on the grass and feel the breeze on your face in what's probably the calmest corner of Coconut Grove.
