Just between Piazza Navona and the Tiber River, Palazzo Altemps is a beautiful late-15th-century palazzo. Now one of the branches of the National Roman Museum, it was originally built for Girolamo Riario, a nephew of Pope Sixtus IV (who was a keen practitioner of nepotism). The building changed hands a number of times throughout the centuries, before being gifted to the Italian State in 1982. It then underwent 15 years of restoration work, and was inaugurated as a museum in 1997.

The Palazzo Venezia has served many purposes over the years, functioning as a papal palace, a political base, and, more recently, a museum focused on applied arts. The Palazzo Venezia museum has an enormous collection spanning around 800 years, including prints, ceramics, furniture, paintings, sculptures, and much more.

Galleria Corsini's story started in 1511, when the building was erected by Cardinal Raffaele Riario (1461-1521). The Corsini family acquired the palazzo in 1736 and now it's a testament to the work of Italian masters. The Galleria Corsini is located in Rome, close to the Botanical Gardens in the Trastevere section of the city.
