Excellent
Great experience, the palace is beautiful. If you plan on walking up to the palace be prepared for an uphill hike! We took a taxi down for 5 euros and wish we would have done it on the way up.

Good
Very good service for buying tickets. We bought tickets to enter from the transferon to the palace which I recommend for those who can't walk through the park

Beautiful Palace, relatively distant from Sintra. We used local bus to get there, and it worked very well. Very busy, better to book late afternoon visit. I think most people try to get there...

About: National Palace of Pena and Park

This 16th-century monastery was transformed into a royal palace by King Ferdinand II. Not known for his subtlety, Ferdinand's folly is a no-holds-barred tribute to the wealth and influence of 19th-century Portugal.

A testament to the power of imagination (and money), the Pena Palace is surrounded by 500 acres of plants and maze-like pathways.
