Description

The High Line is a 1.45-mile-long park built on an old elevated freight line, revitalizing the area as a prime example of urban renewal. You'll see art, performances, views, and the neighborhood's architecture. The south end of the park features birch and serviceberry trees, while the north section has grasses, perennials, and shade-tolerant plants.

The tour starts at the south end near Chelsea Market and the Whitney Museum, both vibrant spots. At the north end, you reach Hudson Yards, previously the largest building site in the U.S., which includes the Shedd performance space, The Vessel artwork, many shops, and the Edge Observation Deck.

The tour concludes at The Vessel, known as “New York’s Staircase.” With 154 flights of stairs, 2,500 steps, and 80 landings, this 150-foot tall bronzed steel structure is in the center of Hudson Yards and can hold up to 1,000 people.
