That Which Sustains Us examines people's interactions with forests and their natural environments in the Vancouver area. The long-term exhibition showcases traditional ecological knowledge, the effects of deforestation and Vancouver's urbanization, and what may come if the city was to turn to sustainable land use practices.

The idea that 'culture shapes how people choose to interact with the natural world' is the thread that connects each part of the exhibition. As to whether the world will step forward with stewardship, or continue on a path of commodification and ownership remains to be seen.
