Madrid's Crown Jewel

In addition to the works of famous Spanish artists, the Prado also houses works by Flemish masters such as Rubens, Bruegel, Van Dyck, and Bosch's triptych, _The Garden of Earthly Delights_. It holds 1,500 masterpieces, including works by Velázquez, Goya, and Titian.

Impressionist & Expressionist Art

In the Great Depression, the Baron Thyssen-Bornemisza de Kászonills purchased art from Americans to create the Thyssen-Bornemisza collection. A former Miss Spain encouraged the Baron's son to move the collection to Madrid when it became too large. Wander through and admire the Impressionist and Expressionist works on display.
