The beauty of the Alps is hard to grasp, and as you pass from lush valleys to the first sprinklings of snow, you know that something fantastic is waiting for you further down the line. The Jungfrau rail takes you on a magical journey from Interlaken to the saddle of Jungfraujoch, where you'll stand amidst the mountains.
Via Grindelwald, you take the cable car "Eiger Express" from Grindelwald Terminal to the station Eigergletscher. The modern cable car, which opened in 2020, will take you from Grindelwald to the station in just 15 minutes. On the way, a magnificent view of the mighty 1800 m high Eiger North Face awaits you. At the Eiger glacier, you change to the rack railroad and ride through the mountain massif of the Eiger and Mönch to the Jungfraujoch.
For a little extra, you can spend the day skiing, sledding, tubing or even riding a flying fox swing down part of the mountain. You can also practice your swing and smash a golf ball into the snowy abyss.
If you just feel like relaxing after your journey to the top, there are plenty of shops to discover at the Top of Europe, including Victorinox; there's nowhere better to buy a Swiss army knife. Or else, ride an ultra-fast elevator to the Sphinx Observatory. It's an additional 108 meters up and the view from the observation deck is unforgettable.
