This exhibition, available in French, English and German, is dedicated to the role of the port of Cherbourg during the decade (and a little beyond) that marks the beginning of the history of the Gare Maritime Transatlantique until after the liberation.

The exhibition takes a look at this unique Art Deco building during the Occupation and Liberation of Cherbourg, and explains why the liberation of the port was a strategic operation of the first order.

At the very heart of the building, which was occupied by German troops, you'll discover the history behind the panels, which are packed with eyewitness accounts and exceptional archive photos. There's also a digital table where you can access additional photo and video archives.

The tour of the nuclear submarine was terrific. It has an experience area where you can test skill with a submarine simulator. The Titanic exhibition of cabins and personal accounts was interesting. The history of the world exploration by sea was very good. The actual aquarium was only average with the exception of the jellyfish column.
