Learn how plagues were dealt with in the past, what martens were used for, and what the executioner's duties were.

Walk through Krakow's maze of romantic, mysterious and mystical streets and discover the charming alleys of the medieval city as you walk through the Old Town, a very different place at night. There's a story around every corner; some of them are scary, others are funny, but you can rest assured that all are unique!

Tour Itinerary

Sightseeing part 1 (around 1 hour)

A professional local guide will take you for the first part of the walk to the Florian Gate, the oldest gate in the city. The walk leads along romantic, mysterious and mystical streets, squares and alleys next to the catacombs, the bell for the dying and the only place where convicts could stop and light a candle.

This is a particularly mystical part of the tour, during which you will have the opportunity to photograph the lesser-known yet beautiful places in Krakow. Then you'll see the beautiful Slowacki Theatre building, a copy of the Garnier Opera in Paris, and the former medieval hospital of St. Roch

Sightseeing part 2 (around 1.5 hours) You will discover the Main Square and all its most important monuments. You will also learn about the location of the bell for the dying, the lantern protecting Krakow from plague, the old cemeteries, the pillory and the martens.

Discover deeply hidden, sometimes dark, stories of Krakow and the mysterious places where the executioner announced the death of the condemned. Then you will go to the picturesque University Quarter with Collegium Maius, the oldest of the preserved university buildings, where the world famous Nicolaus Copernicus and John Paul II studied.

Next, the walk will lead you along the Royal Route to the Wawel Castle. You will discover mysterious narrow streets and learn stories about alchemists, vampires, witches and kings that are known only to the Cracovians who live here. You will also have the opportunity to take unique photos.

End of the tour You will end the tour on Kanonicza Street, the oldest street in the city, from where you will admire the wonderful view of the Wawel Castle. After the tour you may want to try one of the many atmospheric restaurants, recommended to you by your guide, to enjoy a delicious dinner and experience the magical atmosphere of the city.
