We visited Keukenhof during the final week. We had an enjoyable day, and there was still a lot to see – we were surprised to see so many daffodils. There is plenty of well-organised parking, ample cafes and seating areas. However, although we were aware that being the last week the flowers would be coming to an end, we were disappointed at the amount of beds that were actually finished. We arrived at 10am, an ideal time before it got too crowded, but by the afternoon it was more difficult to move around with the number of visitors still pouring in. Having said that, it was a bank holiday! We had also booked a land rover tour, which departed from another venue, a twenty minute walk from the KH entrance. We had been warned beforehand that there weren’t so many tulips to see, so the tour had been revised and included a very interesting visit to a tulip farm. Our guide was very informative, we saw more of the area, and we learnt a lot about the growing of tulips and the original purpose of the of windmills in the area.
