In 1824, a Hamburg top hat shop became a renowned shipping company. The International Maritime Museum will showcase its ship models and memorabilia from March 22 to September 15, 2024. The company's Flying-P-Liner ships, like the "Peking" and the "Pamir," were famed for fast voyages around Cape Horn.

Excellent museum showing all aspects of seafaring - history, technology, human desire to exploit the world... everything's here. I could spend here much more time.

Fascinating experience! Museum has 9 floors, my personal favorite is ocean discovery and oil production sections.
