Take a break from the hustle and bustle of Dublin and discover nature and some medieval Irish architecture and folklore on a day trip to the Wicklow Mountains, Kilkenny and Glendalough.

Aboard a luxury coach, you'll take a day trip to the top sights in south-east Ireland, including Kilkenny Castle, the Wicklow Mountain National Park, and Glendalough’s medieval monastic settlement. This tour also includes a stop at the foot of the Wicklow Mountains, where you'll be able to see border collies corral sheep across the fields.

You'll take the scenic route through the Wicklow Mountains National Park en route to Glendalough and its monastic settlement and medieval archeology. The tour also takes you to Kilkenny City for a 45-minute guided walking tour through its narrow and winding cobbled streets. Pass beneath the city’s medieval arches as you explore all the main attractions and landmarks. Along the way, your tour guide will entertain and inform you with the history of the city.

Itinerary (Nov- Feb) and on Sundays, we will go to Glendalough and the Wicklow Mountains first, and will visit Kilkenny City in the afternoon.) :

  • 10:00 Kilkenny City (45 minute guided walking tour)
  • Free time 1 hour 45 minutes to explore Kilkenny, visit Kilkenny Castle (free entry to the park and courtyard area)
  • Depart Kilkenny at 12:30
  • Travel through Wicklow Mountains and the Wicklow Gap
  • 20 minute stop for a stroll and photo opportunities
  • 14:30 arrive at heritage site of Glendalough (Glen of two lakes)
  • 30-minute guided tour of Glendalough’s Monastic City
  • Sheep dog herding demonstration (Depending on the time of the year you can hold and feed a baby lamb)
  • 17:10 Departure
  • Around 18:15 drop off in Dublin city
