Built between the 14th and 15th centuries, Wat Chedi Luang is one of Chiang Mai's most important temples, located in the old walled part of the city. Wat Chedi Luang initially consisted of two other temples, until Wat Ho Tham and Wat Sukmin were eventually merged into the one mighty temple we see today. Wat Chedi Luang means 'The Temple of the Great Stupa', and one look at its jaw-dropping architecture will give you a good idea where it gets its name from! The temple is considered one of the absolute must-sees for visitors to Chiang Mai.
