Come see Nunavik in all its beauty through the eyes of Indigenous artists.
Avataq Cultural Institute in collaboration with the Canadian Museum of Nature invited artists from across Quebec’s Nunavik region to create artworks inspired by objects from Avataq’s collections.
Like those historical artifacts and artworks created by past generations, the contemporary artworks are grounded in the maker’s strong relationship with the land. Nunavik is a beautiful place long inhabited by Inuit and their ancestors, where artists find their inspiration.
Materials, representations, shapes, and statements all are harnessed for the sake of creating something out of the land.
