We found the discovery pass perfect for our needs when visiting Venice. The 3 day boat pass worked a treat (just remember to validate the ticket every time you use it otherwise there is a large fine - we didn't get caught out, but other people on our boat did). There is only a 1 way trip to Venice so you need to buy a separate ticket to get back to the airport which is a bit of a shame, but we loved the Doge's palace and the boats. The churches were an added bonus as the weather was a little poor - we visited quite a few of these which were spectacular.
