- Vancouver
Duration: 3h
Live guide: English
As the old cliche goes, it's the journey that counts and not the destination. When it comes to making the journey to Granite Falls, however, both the voyage itself and the final destination are equally spectacular.
You'll travel deep into the steep-sided fjord known as Indian Arm on a properly cool-looking boat and feel invigorated by the fresh mountain air on your cheeks!
Step aboard a sleek RIB (rigid inflatable boat) and leave the city far behind - but not before seeing some of the coolest bits of Vancouver, like Stanley Park and English Bay Beach. Passing underneath the spectacular Lions Gate Bridge is not too shabby, either. But then - THEN - leave the city behind.
You'll cruise by the town of Coal Harbour, once noted for its whaling stations and still famous for the gigantic jawbone seen sitting on its shores, which belonged to a blue whale. Delve deeper into the fjord and see the aptly-named Deep Cove, a coastal town nestled at the base of Mount Seymour.
You'll also see Twin Islands, Raccoon Island, and the Buntzen Powerhouse - an old and disused powerhouse from the the 1910s that somehow fits perfectly into its natural surroundings. Of course this is all leading up to the highlight of the day, which is the beautiful Granite Falls itself.
Keep an eye out too for the wildlife. You might see an eagle swooping down and engaging in a spot of fishing!
