- Ubud
Bali is more than Bintangs and beaches, especially in the deep, green heart of it all – Ubud. On this full-day tour, you'll team up with one of Bali's friendly locals, who can't wait to chew your ear off about Ubud's cultural and spiritual history.
You and your guide will tour it all, from bustling markets to the monkey forest, lush rice terraces, and holy temples.
With a name that derives from the word ubad, meaning medicine, Ubud has long been a destination for people seeking natural remedies and holistic wellness. There's a reason why it seems like there are more yoga studios here than people!
Be collected from your hotel and start your tour at Ubud Monkey Forest before the crowds arrive. This ensures more time to wrestle with the free-roaming, banana-stealing long-tail macaques. (Watch your sunnies – they'll steal those too!)
Next up, feast on local specialties for lunch in one of Ubud's many restaurants. The suckling pig is a highlight. There are loads of western options too.
After lunch, you'll be whisked off to the north of Ubud to see the sloping rice terraces of Tegallalang. Watch the farmers in action, snap some selfies on the swings, and get the facts on kopi luwak (coffee beans gathered from civet cat poop) at a traditional coffee plantation.
Next, it's time to get your sarong on for some time at Tirta Empul, a series of water springs within a beautiful water temple complex. Watch locals perform traditional blessings, wash away your sins, and prepare for a final stop at Tegenungan Waterfall. The views from the top are gorgeous!
