After four years of major renovation work, the Carnavalet Museum reopened its doors in May 2021. The oldest museum in Paris has had a real rebirth, so expect a breath of new life in a museum that's nearly 150 years old! You'll find more than 625,000 works that tell the story of Paris's past inside.

La Monnaie de Paris, or the Paris Mint, is a government-owned institution responsible for producing France's euro coins. Founded in 864 AD, it is the world's oldest continuously-running minting institution.

Cité de l'architecture et du patrimoine (Architecture and Heritage City) is a museum for all lovers of architecture, whether they're new to the subject or if it's their passion and profession. Casts and miniatures of major French monuments from the 12th century to the present day are available for guests to admire, as well as a number of international buildings of great renown from the 19th century onwards.

Stroll around its historical (37,000 pieces), philatelic (400,000 pieces) and artistic (6,000 pieces of modern and contemporary art and experience the diversity of the postal world, from the first messengers to how things operate in the present day. You can also enjoy the temporary exhibitions held regularly on the ground floor of the museum.

The Musée de la Grande Guerre du Pays de Meaux, which opened on 11 November 2011 is located on the site of the First Battle of the Marne in Meaux. It is Europe’s biggest First World War museum. Spread across 3,000 square metres, you can discover one of the richest and most varied collections linked to the Great War, with attractive, innovative scenography that takes you on a journey back in time.
