Visit the Museo Nazionale della Magna Grecia to step into history. This respected Italian archeology museum will show you life in ancient Calabria and Magna Graecia. You can see how life changed from the prehistoric age to the time of the Romans.
You'll see items from the Neolithic period that people used daily, which have survived millennia. Discover bronze and iron weapons from Calabrian burial sites, decorated ceramics, and shiny jewels.
Then, move to Level A where special pieces add more depth to the exhibition. At Level B, you'll see holy relics from the temples of Magna Graecia's cities and detailed mini vases brought over from Corinth.
The Riace Bronzes are one of the museum's main attractions. You'll also see the stunning Kouros in Parian marble, the mysterious "Philosopher" head, and the highly praised "Basel" head, all major works of art in the museum.
