I am accustomed to buying advance tickets in order to avoid lines. These tickets did NOT have a specific time as others I've purchased... only a specific day. When we arrived at the Prado, the pre- ticketed line was so long that we decided to leave. The line for Reina Sofia was not as long... perhaps 15 minutes. We returned to Prado around 4pm to give it another try. We were able to walk right in. However, the museum closes at 7pm, I think, so that only left us a few hours. The experience of purchasing and receiving the tickets was simple. I would advise people to investigate the busiest times and avoid those as having advance tickets doesn't mean you can enter quickly.
