Cruising through Carrapatelo Lock is quite an experience. The water level rises (or falls) 35 metres each time the lock is used, with the water being used to generate hydroelectricity.
The Barragem de Crestuma-Lever also serves as a crossing for pedestrians and vehicles. It’s a real thill to watch your captain inch the boat through with millimetres to spare!

Depart Porto and travel by bus towards Régua. Upon arrival at Régua, you can observe one of the oldest demarcated wine regions in the world.
Return to Porto along the Douro River, starting from Régua Quay at approximately 10:30 AM. Glide gently past the terraced vineyards of the Douro Valley, and experience the purity of nature. Lunch will be served on board the boat at approximately 12:00 PM.
Sail to the Carrapatelo Dam, and continue to the Crestuma-Lever. After crossing the two dams, enjoy the serenity of the Douro River as you continue to Porto for an estimated arrival at 18:00 PM.
