Getting there:
- By foot: About 45 minutes walking from the center of Sintra
- Bus: Scotturb Line 434 (Pena circuit) from Sintra Train Station
- Train from Lisbon (Estação do Oriente, Estação do Rossio, or Estação de Entrecampos)
- Please note that the venue is not reachable by car
Transfer services:
- There is a paid transfer service available bringing guests from the park entrance to the palace. The service runs every 15 minutes and is wheelchair accessible
- There's a free hop-on hop-off transfer service available between the Palace and the Chalet of the Countess of Edla. Simply show your entrance ticket and hop on!

- No animals are allowed in, apart from guide dogs
- Flash photography and tripods aren't allowed inside the palace

Getting There:
If travelling from Lisbon, take the Sintra line from Estação do Oriente, Estação do Rossio or Estação de Entrecampos. There are regular buses from Sintra Rail Station to the National Palace.

The staff have taken excellent care of the interior of the castle. Once outside, the views from the castle grounds are stunning. And if you don't want to spend 30 minutes climbing from the entrance gate up to the castle, then the shuttle is very handy.
