"Poetess of the city and artist in the city, Miss.Tic is a pioneer of urban art and the French stencil movement. Active since the early 1980s, she has never stopped hammering home the same ideas for forty years - no ideals / just high ideas," she writes.
It's a veritable literary, plastic, societal and philosophical project that she inscribes on our walls with aerosol ink. She expresses her rage, her desires, her humor and her thirst for justice through a protean practice, in which the street remains the privileged place for a mode of expression, exhibition and popular education.
Intimate and eminently political, her work exudes an air of revolt. Miss.Tic, who died in May 2022 at the age of 66, occupies a central place in an art history that is still being written, and to which this first monograph and posthumous exhibition aims to contribute.
