Entrance to MUZIEUM
A tour of one of the dark experiences or the Expedition Ribbelroute

Nijmegen's MUZIEUM is unlike usual guided museum tours. You're led by blind and partially sighted staff. The learning at this unique sensory museum is achieved only through touching, hearing, and smelling via the Tour in Darkness ticket.

Armed with a white cane, you'll experience some of the daily norms and struggles of people who don't have the benefit of fully functioning sight. Get a small taste of what it's like to potter around the kitchen, browse in a supermarket, and cross the street. Your guide will lead you through the darkness – they're pretty adept, as you can imagine.

The exhibitions are true to real life, but you can also opt to take the experience out into the real world. Choose the Ribbelroute and you'll explore the streets of Nijmegen with a pair of virtual reality glasses that replicate visual impairments. You operate the app's menu with only your eyes!
