We voelen ons bedrogen.

About: Nationaal Holocaustmuseum

Once a thriving theatre before World War II, the Hollandsche Schouwburg tragically became a Nazi collection point for the deportation of Jews from July 1942 onward.

Thousands were detained here for hours, days, or even weeks before being dispatched to concentration and extermination camps. Today, the former theatre stands as a poignant memorial, honoring all victims of the Holocaust.

Amsterdam Museum

The Amsterdam Museum tells the story of the Dutch capital, from the Middle Ages through the 17th century, and right up to modern times. When it opened its doors in 1926 it was located in the Waag at the Nieuwmarkt. In 1975 the museum moved to its current location, just off the Kalverstraat, a building that was originally a municipal orphange. The collection is full of photos, artifacts and interactive exhibits.
