In the early years of the 20th century, Céline Laguarde established herself as an international figure within the first artistic movement in the history of photography: pictorialism. Rediscovered thanks to the exhibition "Qui a peur des femmes photographes? 1839-1945" (2015), the artist's personal collection was largely acquired by the Musée d'Orsay. The fall 2024 retrospective is the first devoted to Céline Laguarde, and also the first dedicated exclusively to a photographer active in France before the First World War. Céline Laguarde's work will thus emerge from a century of oblivion.

Great museum well worth visiting. Could not get tickets on museum website but Tiqets had plenty of tickets for sale, even for the same day. No trouble visiting any exhibit, just flashed my cellphone.

Awesome an amazing collection of masterpieces we truly enjoyed. Most people visit main building only while the best of the art is behind and up floors 👍

Used this audio guide at the Orsay Museum, and it added great context to the artworks. The app was easy to use. Still, it was a fantastic addition!
