Description

Explore the Wieliczka Salt Mine on a trip from Krakow. This well-preserved mine, active since the 13th century, produced table salt until 2007. As a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it spans nine levels and stretches over 300 kilometers, reaching depths of 327 meters.

Your visit starts with a descent down 380 steps to the first level, 64 meters underground. The tour ends with a lift ride from the third level, 135 meters deep.

The mine features impressive corridors and salt rock sculptures made by miners and modern artists, showcasing its rich history. The mine has also intrigued notable visitors, including Nicolaus Copernicus, Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, and Frederic Chopin.
