The wine cellar of the winery Stift Klosterneuburg lies about 36 metres underground and maintains a constant temperature between 12 and 14 degrees Celsius all year around This is due to a 300-year-old, natural ventilation system that provides a relaxed climate behind the strong walls.
This atmospheric wine cellar tour will introduce you to the stunning baroque cellar ensemble, which, supported by meter-thick brick walls, extends four levels deep underground. The combination of centuries-old winemaking tradition and state-of-the-art cellar technology can be experienced in a unique way in the oldest winery in Austria.
The tour highlights the 900-year history of wine production in Klosterneuburg. After the tour there is the possibility of a wine tasting in the Stiftsvinothek, a cellar vault from the 13th century.
