Ever wished life was a fairytale? Why not head to Brabant's most beautiful castle in search of your prince or princess? This towering monument has a history spanning a thousand years, plus turrets, flags, knights and even a moat. It's a location fit for a king or queen!
Heeswijk Castle is as commanding in its presence as it was a thousand years ago. It's here at this now-restored 11th-century fortress that the rich lords of Heeswijk-Dinther lived for centuries.
Looming over the land in the stunning heart of the Heeswijk Estate, Heeswijk Castle has as many stories as it does rooms to explore. Reflect on the life and traditions of the mid-19th century in the museum, and find out why the great-grandson of baron André (heir to the castle) was not allowed to inhabit the place until his 80th birthday in 1963!
You can still see some weapons, armor, paintings, furniture, statues, porcelain... even old wine bottles inside!
Take a snoop around and look for your knight in shining armor. He probably won't move, but he won't mind being in your photos either.
