Fort Saint-André
Offering stunning 360° views over Avignon and Provence since the 14th century, Fort Saint-André is a magnificent medieval fortress set amidst a breathtaking panorama of sunny southern France. From the castle walls, you can see the historic Palais des Papes, as well as Mont Ventoux, the Alpilles, the Luberon, and lots of glorious countryside. It was commissioned by the French King Philippe le Bel as a bit of a power move and for its strategic vantage point. The castle is an exceptional testimony to the military architecture of the 14th century.
