Description

Florence’s Baptistery and Duomo, featuring Brunelleschi’s dome, are must-sees due to the impressive architecture, both inside and out. The Florence Cathedral is a site you shouldn't miss and seeing it at dawn before the crowds is even more special. "The Awakening" tour, is an early morning, small group tour that lets you see the Duomo wake up.

It starts at dawn when your guide takes you to meet the "chiavigero," who opens the Duomo. As the first inside, you’ll see the frescoed vault by Vasari and Zuccari when the lights reveal the Last Judgement fresco with figures like angels appearing in the light.

You'll also learn about the Duomo's clock by Paolo Uccello, which tells time from sunset to sunrise while exploring more of the church.
