Standing at an impressive 5.17 meters tall (that's 17 feet!), David's (mostly) Goliath-like proportions were a symbol of the defense of civil liberties in the ancient Republic of Florence. It's no coincidence that his icy glare is pointing towards Rome.

Your guide will take you on a journey into the Italian cultural revolution that changed the face of Western civilization forever. After taking in Michelangelo's marble masterpiece, you'll move on to see even more of his stunning works, like the Prisoners, St. Matthew, and the Palestrina Pietà.

La guía Meritxell muy buena. Nos dio una lección sobre el David, muy bien documentada, con datos muy interesantes y poco conocidos, fué una visita muy amena a la vez que muy bien organizada. En toda la visita a la Academia nos fue explicando numerosos detalles y nos guió muy bien para no perdernos nada que fuera relevante, dentro de las innumerables obras que contiene. La gestión deTiqets también buena y bien organizada. El acceso a la Academia con orden y bien guiados dentro del maremagnum que suele haber a la entrada. Repetiria sin duda la experiencia. Book this on a Tuesday 9am and easy to find guide and the museum is amazing. Guide is knowledgeable. Michaelangelo's David is stunning. Worth it to visit this place.
