It was a long day and we were really tired by the end. Our wonderful guide, Graeme, did a great job of taking us to Skye and back, stopping off at stunning vistas and planned stops along the way. He was very knowledgable and clearly passionate about the Highlands and Scotland as a whole, a passion he passed on to all of us, through his commentary, stories and the beautiful music he played for us through the day. We would never have seen so much in a day if we had gone on our own. This trip is a great way to cram loads in and it helps to work out places you’d want to spend more time in.

Loch Ness

Needing no introduction, Loch Ness is not only Scotland's most famous lake; it's arguably one of the most talked about lakes in the world. A deep, freshwater loch with a total surface area of 56.4 square kilometres set against the dramatic backdrop of the Scottish Highlands, Loch Ness is also one of the most scenic lakes in the world. Numerous reported sightings of a giant prehistoric monster (affectionately known as Nessie) who lives in the murky depths of Loch Ness have immortalised the lake in popular culture, and made the lake a popular destination for monster hunters and sightseers alike.
