What to expect
This guided tour of the left side of the Ebro Delta by car takes you to: the seafood port of Illa de Mar, viewpoints that showcase the beauty of the area, past traditional ports, and to the mouth of the river where you can contemplate the rice fields.
Your itinerary
Begin at the seafood port of Illa de Mar, an old port with more than a century of tradition that is located inside the Bay of Fangar.
From this point, you'll enjoy a beautiful 360º panoramic view in which you'll be able to observe: the green filter lagoon, the fishing village of l'Ampolla, the mussel farms in the middle of the bay, and the peculiar red and white lighthouse of the dune peninsula of Fangar.
Discover the most traditional tools and boats that have been used, and are still used, in this port and also find out the process of cultivation of mussels and oysters consists of.
With binoculars, observe the fauna that rests peacefully in these waters, and with luck we will have the opportunity to see the star of this Biosphere Reserve, the flamingo.
From the ziggurat viewpoint, stare out at the mouth of the river. Enjoy the rice fields, different throughout the four seasons, and learn about their peculiarities.
