The Chocolate Museum is dedicated to sweet seduction and gives its guests a comprehensive explanation on the history of cocoa and chocolate. This begins with the Aztecs and cocoa as the "food of the gods" and ends with the pleasurable variety we enjoy today.

See a variety of historic chocolate machines from the time of industrialization, discover how your favourite sweet treats are made, and enjoy an unbeatable view of the Rhine in the museum café with its 30-meter-long panoramic windows.

Learn about the 5,000-year history of chocolate in a museum that feels like you're on a ship! The journey begins with the pre-Columbian cultures of the Americas, such as the Mayas and the Aztecs, then takes you through the Baroque period and industrialization, and ends with the chocolate products of today.

A highlight of the exhibit is a walk-through tropical house with cocoa trees. In the glass chocolate factory, it is vividly shown how chocolate bars, hollow figures and pralines are made industrially, but also by hand by master chocolatiers.

At the three-meter-high chocolate fountain – formed from golden cocoa beans – 200 kilograms of delicious chocolate flow continuously for tasting. The museum itself is so stunning that it is also a popular venue for weddings, and sweet dreams come true at the on-site café so make sure to grab something to treat your tastebuds.

Pass the ticket counter and go directly to the entrance to have your smartphone ticket scanned.
