Tips for visiting the Burj Khalifa
There's a lot going on at the Burj Khalifa. If you're only interested in the views, opt for tickets with access to Floors 124 & 125 or 148 – these are perfect for panoramic gazing, with high-power telescopes extending your view.
Access to the 148th floor is well worth it to make the most of your experience – it features incredible views from the Burj's highest observation deck and generally has fewer visitors than lower floors. Plus, you get complimentary refreshments!
The Lounge is Burj Khalifa's sky-high spot for drinks and snacks, with the highest lounge in the world spread across floors 152, 153, and 154. Here you'll find baked goodies, delightful desserts, and a large selection of teas and coffees.
The views are spectacular, and you can enjoy them for as long as you like. It's really up to you how long you want to spend at the top of Burj Khalifa, but most people spend about one hour on average.
Make sure you give yourself another hour to get to the top, as there are likely to be queues for the elevators – unless you have a ticket that includes skip-the-line access. The 22 mph (35 kph) elevators zoom up to the observation deck in about a minute, which is pretty fast considering this is the tallest tower in the world!
Feasting at a Burj Khalifa restaurant is one of the best things to do in Downtown Dubai. Admiring the views of the Dubai Fountains and the Burj Park while eating something delicious is an experience you won't forget.
Atmosphere is the classiest of them all. High on the 122nd floor, it promises top-rated service, fine dining, and an incomparable ambiance. You'll need to book ahead.
The Lounge on the 152nd - 154th floors offers a less extravagant, but no less tasty experience. Go for the 'Tea in the Clouds at the Lounge' tickets and get cakes, pastries, and bubbly with your visit to the 152nd, 153rd, and 154th floors of Burj Khalifa.
Armani Deli is an Italian-inspired gourmet restaurant located on the ground floor of Burj Khalifa. Serving everything from simple snacks to an indulgent Friday brunch, it's also famous for its 24-carat gold coffee. Is it worth it? You tell us!
The views are jaw-dropping whatever time you visit, but if you want to avoid queues and crowds it's best to visit Burj Khalifa in the early hours of the day (8:30 am - 10:00 am), early afternoon (1:30 pm - 3:30 pm) or after 8:30 pm when the sunset watchers have disappeared into the night.
Sunset in Dubai is between 5.30 pm - 7:00 pm depending on the time of year. If you're looking for those magical sunset views, plan to arrive at least an hour before. That will give you enough time to enjoy it in the light as well.
Anything larger than a small bag or purse will have to be checked in and collected on your return from the top. You'll also have to check in strollers. No food is allowed, and no pets – sorry dogs and cats, this one's for your humans only!
If you have a booking at Atmosphere, remember to wear your evening cocktail dresses, skirts, dress shirts, pants, suits, etc. The top hotels won't allow you to enter in shorts or tank tops. During the day, on all other floors, you can wear what you normally would.
