La Pedrera is hosting “Sean Scully”, the most complete retrospective exhibition of works by one of the most important contemporary exponents of abstract art.Featuring over 60 pieces, this exhibition gives visitors a unique view of the Dublin-born US-based artist’s career, from his more figurative beginnings to his more recent creations.
It explores his paintings, sculptures, drawings and photos, in which colour blocks, lines and textures convey deep emotions and forge unique bonds with the viewer. Each piece invites visitors to delve into a universe of rhythm and intensity that turns abstract painting into an introspective visual experience.
One of the most impressive pieces is a huge sculpture in the courtyard on Passeig de Gràcia, created specifically for this exhibition, that surprises visitors at first sight and sets the tone for a visit full of rhythm, intensity and emotion.
You can see this new exhibition from the Fundació Catalunya La Pedrera through 6 July 2025.

Combine Casa Milà with other Barcelona favorites. Some things are better together.
Another masterpiece by Gaudí built from 1905-10, commissioned by the wealthy Pere Milà. This building was designed to be used as a fashionable home for the Milà family and as an office block.
The house's original name was Casa Milà; however, the building is better known by its name "La Pedrera" (The Quarry), which refers to the uneven gray stone facade that ripples around the corner of Carrer de Provença.
