There’s no better way to get to know a place than to go with a local, who’ll answer your every question! This unique experience at the Sagrada Família puts you in the capable, expert hands of local Meritxell, a Gaudi devotee and born-and-raised Barcelona native. This passionate, Italian-speaking guide will make sure you get a better understanding of the building's history and architectural details, and will tell you all about the exterior and interior of this UNESCO World Heritage Site, the last of Gaudí's masterworks to be constructed.
You'll start your adventure by admiring the outside of this famous basilica, before heading inside to be dazzled by the way light passes through the stained-glass windows. Meritxell will explain the life and career of Antoni Gaudí, the genius architect behind the building, and share the history of the basilica's construction. Not only is this tour fun and educational, with Meritxell as your guide, you'll come away with a new friend.
Meet your guide: Hi there! My name is Meritxell, and I'm a born-and-raised Barcelona local. Art and culture have been a part of my life since I was a little kid, thanks to my mother, who's a painter. I pursued my passion for art by studying History of Art, and I even had the chance to study in two amazing cities during my degree - Florence and Rome. I fell in love with Italy and perfected my Italian language skills during my five years there. For more than ten years, I've been working as an Official Guide of Catalonia, and it's truly more than just a job - it's a passion. I love being able to share my knowledge of Barcelona with visitors, especially when it comes to Gaudí, who I have a great devotion to. Join me on a tour of the "Sagrada Família," and let me share with you the emotions that I feel every time I see its stunning shapes, colors, light, and symbolism. I promise you that this will be a one-of-a-kind, unique experience. Let's explore together!
Combine Sagrada Familia with other Barcelona favorites. Some things are better together.
