About: Babe Ruth Birthplace and Museum
It all started in a rowhome…
George Herman “Babe” Ruth was born at 216 Emory Street on February 6, 1985. The Babe Ruth Birthplace and Museum preserves the historic rowhome where Babe Ruth was born, artifacts from his life and career, and never-before-seen video and audio clips of the slugger.
The Birthplace is also the official museum of the Baltimore Orioles, Baltimore Colts, and its collection represents all Maryland sports. It is the only place where you can see a Super Bowl Lombardi Trophy and World Series Trophy side-by-side. Other notable athletes represented include Michael Phelps, Johnny Unitas, Jessica Long, and Ray Lewis.
The museum is located 4 minutes from Oriole Park at Camden Yards and is the perfect complement to an Orioles game. Tours are self-guided and visitors should expect to spend between 45 minutes to 1 hour viewing the exhibits.
