Who better to guide you through Amsterdam than Rembrandt himself? During this 2.5-hour tour, you'll explore the parts of the city the famous artist lived and worked, and discuss the stories that inspired his paintings.
Start in Spiegelquarter, famed for its unique collection of art and antiques, and then move onto the Keizersgracht, also known as the Emperor’s Canal, where you’ll discuss one of Rembrandt’s most successful apprentices.
Next is Rembrandt Square, where you’ll learn about the night watch guards portrayed in one of his most famous works, here recreated as bronze sculptures. In Staalstraat, learn about the local Drapers Guild. Finally, in Waterloo Square, you will discover the former Jewish Quarter, home to a variety of immigrants including Rembrandt and his wife.
You’ll end the tour at the Rembrandt House Museum, and get a more intimate look into this remarkable artist’s life, with his etchings and personal art collection, authentic furnishings from the 1600s.
Groups are small (no more than eight guests per tour) so you’ll be able to enjoy a customized experience with a certified guide, and have plenty of time to ask questions.
