One of the largest museums in the world, the American History Museum is located across the street from Central Park. The museum complex consists of 27 interconnected buildings housing 45 permanent exhibition halls, in addition to a planetarium and a library. The museum collections contain over 32 million plant, human, animal, fossil, mineral, rock, and meteorite specimens - as well as human cultural artifacts. The museum is gorgeous. The problem is the long queue before getting in, no matter if you previously bought your tickets. Staff is not too kind, also.

Excellent
Brilliant experience, amazing exhibitions. I would recommend getting there early. We were there just before opening and didn’t have to queue too long. Once inside, it doesn’t feel busy.

Excellent definitely should visit atleast one. Would need a whole day to cover a good amount of the place.
